An Endanagered Animal is a species that will only survive for a short period of time unless actions are taken to save it. These animals are usually assigned a status based on the length of time the species is expected to survive under current conditions, so a species that is being hunted, is living on land that is being destroyed or is disappearing quickly is considered to be in more danger than other animals.

Many Australian animals are endangered. Including, mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects, arachnids, worms, clams, crustaceans, snails, corals, jelly fish and sea anemones and plants. If you take a moment to think about life cycles, then you will understand that all living things rely on another species, animal or plant, to survive. Let's think about a bird; a bird relies on a tree to make a nest. When the tree flowers the bird relies on the seeds for its food. If we chop the tree down the bird now has no food, no place to nest and no place to be safe high in its branches.

Title 4.PNG

Unfortunately, animals are endanagered across our world. So what is causing animals to be endangered and eventually extinct? There are many things that affect our environment that is causing animals to become endangered. Our planet is a constantly changing place and the people and creatures living on it are constantly changing too. When living conditions on Earth change, the affected species must change with them. Those that cannot adapt will naturally become fewer and fewer in number over time.
